FAQ about Jade Products
What types of jade do you offer?
Meteorlegends specializes in natural, undyed, untreated and old mine only jade—including both nephrite and jadeite—sourced from renowned regions.
How do I know the jade is authentic?
Our authenticity is backed by many years of experience in the jade industry. We work exclusively with trusted suppliers whose families have been in this business for generations, and our experts personally select each piece at the source to ensure every jade item is completely untreated and genuine. Our rigorous selection process guarantees that no low-end jade is misrepresented as premium quality, and that "new jade" is never passed off as aged material. By "new jade," we mean material that hasn't been in the ground long enough to develop the proper density and oiliness—resulting in a lighter, more porous stone that may yellow or discolor with wear. In contrast, our "aged jade" has been in the earth long enough to achieve excellent density, natural oiliness, and stable quality, ensuring superior performance and lasting beauty.
Are your Jade pieces handcrafted?
Yes, portion of our jade pendant products are hand-carved. We clearly label hand-carved pieces—if a piece isn't marked as such, it has been machine-carved. Hand carving offers significant artistic value and uniqueness; even when depicting the same subject, no two hand-carved items are identical. Our master carvers are highly experienced, ensuring that each hand-carved piece is more valuable and distinct than a machine-carved one. Additionally, hand-carved jade naturally exhibits traces of craftsmanship and inherent surface marks, which reflect the beauty of the artisan's work and the natural character of the jade. Please appreciate these subtle imperfections as a testament to both tradition and quality.
What care is recommended for maintaining Jade jewelry?
Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft cloth with warm, soapy water to gently clean your jade. Avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, or steam cleaning. After cleaning, gently pat your jade dry with a soft towel.
Proper Storage: When not in use, lightly brush your jade with a small amount of jade maintenance oil to prevent the jade from drying out. While wearing the jade does not require oiling, it can dry out if left in the air for extended periods. Then, store it in a small sealed plastic bag . Suitable maintenance oils include odorless options like canola oil, lanolin, olive oil, or baby oil.
